#Pempreciation2842 Original poster here - To clarify before things get out of hand, the freshers were really chatting nonsense about Anna’s personal relationships outside of Pembroke (highly foolish as this is a sensitive topic they obviously have no idea as to actual facts). They also said some pretty outlandish things about Anna’s relationship with the now second years. As someone who has never been a member of the choir, I myself only have a second-hand perspective, but knowing a number of the “aggrieved” choir folk from contexts outside choir, I can say that I do not consider their judgment on college staff to be very reliable. The same people constantly assume the worst about sports coaches, are uncharitable towards college hierarchy, all while being quite unfriendly and exclusionary people themselves. You reap what you sow.

#Pempreciation2838 To #pempreciation2835 As someone who was also in the choir while Anna was here, those rumours are absolutely not 'ridiculous' or 'nonsense'. Anna did a lot of great things for the Pembroke music scene, the choir and for women in classical music, but as a director of music there were a lot of things she did not do well or professionally, her interpersonal relationships with particular choir members being among those things. Don't want to open this particular can of worms on here, but thought I would say my piece.
