NU Baliwag Freedom Wall
#NUBaliwagFreedomWall44
To the Administrators and Student Leaders of NU Baliwag,
Good day. We would like to raise a concern regarding the policy that allows civilian attire only if it consists of NU merchandise or organization shirts.
Not everyone has the financial capacity to keep buying NU merch. With the continuous increase in fare/gas and food expenses, this requirement adds more pressure instead of easing students’ situations.
To be honest, this decision comes across as out of touch and inconsiderate of the actual realities students face. We are asking you to please put yourselves in the students’ situation. Hindi pare-pareho ang kakayahan ng bawat isa, and policies like this should take that into account. Ang ibang estudyante ay mapipilitang mag-uniform at magtiis sa init dahil walang pambili. Is that what you want?
We are also demanding a clear and transparent explanation of how this decision was made. What factors were considered? Students deserve to understand the reasoning behind policies that directly affect them.
At the same time, we strongly urge the administration to reconsider or revise this policy. There are more inclusive and practical ways to achieve your goals without adding financial and physical strain on students.
For the Central Student Government, we are asking you to step up and act as a bridge. Please help bring this concern to the administration and ensure that student voices are genuinely heard. We understand this may not be your decision, but your role in representing students is crucial.
If identification is one of the main reasons, we also ask: isn’t the ID lace already sufficient?
This is not just a complaint. This is a call for accountability, transparency, and consideration. We hope this concern is taken seriously and leads to proper dialogue and action.
Thank you.
