#CarolinianFreedomWall16393 This might be posted late but idc Many of us, including myself, do not feel mentally or emotionally prepared to return to the academic environment. Our anxiety is compounded by the perception that the administration has been inconsiderate of this force majeure situation, prioritizing institutional processes over student and staff welfare. This demand overlooks the fact that many students are grappling with a desire to volunteer in relief efforts or to return to their families to ensure their safety and provide emotional support. It is particularly disheartening to learn that the primary reason for this mandatory physical attendance in the case of the architecture program is the PAASCU accreditation. While we understand the importance of accreditation, leveraging a natural disaster as a backdrop for an evaluation feels deeply inappropriate and places an undue burden on us. Our well-being should not be compromised for the sake of an inspection.

#CarolinianFreedomWall16390 BIG EARTHQUAKE—VERY STRONG, MANY PEOPLE FELT IT (EVERYBODY FELT IT)—AND THE ADMINISTRATION, SO WEAK, SO DISHONEST, THEY SAY THEY DID A “THOROUGH INSPECTION.” BUT WHO DID IT?? NOT ENGINEERS, NOT LICENSED PROFESSIONALS. FOURTH YEAR STUDENTS. STUDENTS!!! NOBODY HAS EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. THEY CALLED IT “STRUCTURALLY SOUND.” MANY ARE LAUGHING. MANY ARE CRYING. PICTURES ARE ALL OVER—CRACKS, BROKEN WALLS, VERY BAD LOOK. BUT THE ADMIN SAYS GO BACK. GO BACK TO CLASS. TOTAL DISASTER. EVEN PROFESSORS—STRONG PROFESSORS, THE BEST—CANCELLED CLASSES THEMSELVES. THEY HAVE MORE EMPATHY, MORE HEART, THAN THE PEOPLE RUNNING THIS PLACE. THE ADMIN THINKS WE ARE NUMBERS ON A SCREEN. TUITION MACHINES. CASH COWS. THEY WILL STUFF THEIR POCKETS WHILE WE SIT UNDER CRACKED CEILINGS. VERY DANGEROUS!!! VERY CORRUPT!!! ONLY I—USC’S FAVORITE STUDENT, THE VOICE OF TRUTH, THE GREATEST STUDENT—WILL SAY IT: THEY RISKED YOUR LIFE. THEY RISKED ALL OUR LIVES. AND THEY THINK IT’S “OKAY.” SAD!!! - THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! MAKE USC GREAT AGAIN!

#CarolinianFreedomWall16389 Dear usc admin, I may be a one of the many students to not be greatly affected by the earthquake but for some, this event is life changing. If you need help deciding, you may read the parable of the lost sheep. Practice what you preach. #nooneleftbehind

#CarolinianFreedomWall16387 To the profs, I understand there's class tomorrow. But when students would text or email if there's class tomorrow or what not, please be more understanding. There are still worries about aftershocks and affects of the earthquake. Travelling to school might actually be dangerous for some people. Homes might not have electricity at the moment. There's people who were actually affected and we just don't see it. Please don't just assume that we just don't want to have class tomorrow.

#CarolinianFreedomWall16385 Did they even consider the fact that most of the students arent even able to travel to school, given this unfortunate event and the fact that MULTIPLE people experienced their house being damaged, witnessing their loved once being taken away, and much more things that can indicate the fact that those people are not mentally sound enough to even travel to school. to add, for some people, travelling is inaccessable to those who has been severely affected by the earthquake and the after effects. how do they expect them to be able to attend school with no absence, like do you want them to fly? in addition to this, multiple performance tasks are due and students— like i said— are not yet mentally stable enough to function in class and actively participate. I remember one time, it was heavily raining and multiple people’s houses were flooding, most of them were unable to travel— what the school did was not cancel the classes, it was to not mark them late. like holy fucking shit, is that all the effort the administrators are gonna do to the students, and i know this is not comparable to the earthquake but still it just shows how apathetic our administrators are. Even if the buildings are structurally sound, what about the students? the school claims to be a catholic school, ready to give help to those unfortunate, but isn’t that just a front? I don’t even thing the administrators have any empathy towards their students and faculty. To add, what is the reason behind the resumption of classes even when knowing that student’s are not yet mentally okay, some families literally cannot access transportation to school due to damaged homes, blocked roads, or lack of transportation. Yet they are expecting “normal” attendance is unfair to those affected by the earthquake. To add, those who are able to attend classes still are not mentally okay after the earthquake. No one takes 1 day to recover from a traumatic event. They most likely still are not able to process what is said or taught to them, so what is the use of attending school? Catholic school especially should be living out its own values: compassion, care for the vulnerable, and understanding in times of crisis.

#CarolinianFreedomWall16383 mas dako siguro ang mental resiliency diri sa postgrad kay ingnan ra man tag " trust the buildings kay naka agi na ug earthquakes in the past", as well as "play with the cards your dealt with kay midterms na next week, gamita ni time ron to study" and "strengthen mental fortitude because life goes on". Unsaon man ng mental fortitude kung mahagsa nang kisame kalit inig uyog 🤔
