LSPU SPCC Freedom Wall
#LSPUSPCCFreedomWall16
Hello. I would like to bring up and maybe asked to be clarified why some professors prefer making Facebook Messenger groupchats as a Learning Management System instead of leaning back into Google Classroom.
Announcements and files are being uploaded in messenger instead. And while on one point, Facebook Messenger is a reliable app to be more updated of the announcements than in Google Classroom, the files being sent in Facebook Messenger are only accessible for some time and will eventually expire for some weeks (if I'm not wrong). Students have to download the files as soon as possible, otherwise, they will be restricted of the access to the files. While students learned how to adapt and adjust to this system for some time now, it's still a bit of hassle to try going through the Facebook Messenger files just to download a file uploaded weeks or months ago. Other universities utilize Google Classroom for class announcements, uploading of files and to serve as online submission bins. And since the pandemic, it had been proven to be a very reliable Learning Management System app online. It also keeps a professional atmosphere between the professor and the students.
So if this freedom wall and post will do anything, I hope the student council can consider this issue as something important to communicate with to the professors or faculties in charge of courses.
