Wala pang Lady Whistledown ang Polsci? None? Alrigh then.
Dearest gentle reader, it appears the halls have once again become host to whispers most intriguing. While some may dismiss them as mere coincidence, this author has learned that something rather new is beginning to rot in within the PolSci Department.
It appears that not every smile is born of sincerity, nor every kind word spoken with good intentions. In a world where loyalty is praised so freely, one might find it rather amusing how quickly it disappears when convenience comes calling.
This author has observed that a certain party possesses a peculiar talent: embracing you warmly with one hand while carefully sharpening a blade with the other. How unfortunate for them, however, that whispers have a habit of traveling far beyond the walls in which they were first spoken.
You may show kindness to those you encounter and wear innocence as though it were your finest attire, but even the most carefully concealed horns reveal themselves in the whispers that follow your name.
And how peculiar it is that those with so much to say behind closed doors suddenly find themselves robbed of every word when standing before the very person they speak of. One might call it discretion, perhaps. This author, however, finds cowardice a far more fitting term. For if one possesses the courage to whisper accusations in another's absence, surely they ought to possess the courage to speak them in their presence.
One may hide behind sweet words and practiced smiles, but betrayal, dear reader, has a most inconvenient way of revealing its author.
And when the truth finally takes center stage, one can only wonder...
Who will still be applauding?
