To the Girl in the Pink Lehenga,
I don’t know your name yet, but I know the moment you walked into the ASHA Ball, the room shifted. It wasn’t just the sparkle of your pink lehenga or the way it caught the light it was the way you carried yourself, like the night had been waiting for you to arrive.
You were with a friend in a blue-green suit, laughing, radiant, and completely unaware of how effortlessly you stole my attention. I couldn’t help but smile every time you did like your joy was contagious, and I was lucky enough to catch it from across the room.
There’s something beautiful about admiring someone from a distance. You don’t know their voice yet, or the way they laugh when something’s really funny—but your presence said enough. It said grace. It said warmth. It said something I couldn’t quite put into words until now.
If I could, I’d go back to that night just to walk up and say hello. Maybe even ask for a dance. But since I didn’t, consider this letter my way of taking that first step now.
Wherever you are, I hope you read this and smile. Because that’s all I wanted to do when I saw you—make you smile.
With love,
The guy who’s been thinking about the girl in the pink lehenga ever since that night
