Dear Kmart Waffles,
You once told me, “I trust you more than anything,” and I believed that meant something.
Then, when I was most vulnerable, you demeaned me after promising you wouldn’t, targeted my sexuality as a joke, and weaponized my rape trauma.
For months, I hoped you would take responsibility for what you did and care about the harm you caused me. The impact of that harm was real but despite that I still had faith in the person I thought you were.
I’m putting this here to give you one FINAL opportunity for an apology to still matter, for forgiveness to still be possible, but I don’t think I can do that for much longer.
Letting go means closing that door.
