So naa koy na-ila nga girl, scholar unta under Founder’s Grant. This semester, her tuition fee got really high murag wala na’y grant. Her older sister checked her portal and asked, “Ngano taas man imong bayad? Diba naa kay scholarship?”But the student didn’t say anything. Quiet ra siya.When I checked, wala na jud naka-indicate nga grant. Ana dayon iyang ate, “Grant gud na siya!” So I calmly suggested, “Maybe check her grades? Basi wa naka-abot og required average?”Then boom she didn’t reach the 2.5 GPA requirement. That’s why her grant was removed.What’s sad is that she never told her family. She stays in a boarding house here in the city, so her ate had no idea nga nawala na diay ang grant. Her sister was really mad not just sa tuition, but sa fact nga she trusted her, and didn’t expect to be left in the dark. Imagine saving money, trusting your sibling, only to find out she didn’t even monitor her own grades. Sayang kaayo ang grant. So if you’re reading this and you’re a scholar 📌 Take it seriously. 📌 Communicate with your family. 📌 Don’t waste the chance others are praying for. Sometimes, the most painful thing is not the tuition… but being lied to by someone you trusted.

Sige mo’g post ug “Kamo gani 6k ra, kami sauna 21k wa gani mi reklamo.” Pero unsa may point ana? Para lang makapang-compare? Makapandown?Unsa may labot sa uban kung wala na imong grant karon? Naay uban nga 4k ra gani pero naglisod na. Unya instead nga mangutana sa registrar or admin, diri mo maglagot sa fb world?If naa mo’y reklamo, adto sa registrar, accounting, or admin. Kay sila ra’y maka-explain kung ngano taas ang bayranan. Ang uban nga estudyante, pareho ra pud nimog nagtuon ug nag-struggle.Be angry, yes. But direct it to the right people. Ayaw sa uban nga nagpakabana ra. Kung gusto ka ug tubag, pangutana sa sakto nga lugar dili pang-compare diri. 😌

#AsianistasFreedomWall34 To be honest, I’m one of those nga okay ra mo-pay sa tuition, pero I can’t help but ask asa na ang improvement? Ang bayad murag taas every sem, pero ang service, facilities, ug system… same ra gihapon. I’m not here to hate, pero we need to speak up. Students are paying so much some even need to loan, work, or skip meals just to enroll. Unya ang uban makaingon lang ug, “Kung dili ka ka-afford, ayaw pa-enroll.” Please stop that mindset. Dili tanan parehas ug life situation. Just because someone is struggling financially doesn’t mean lesser ilang right to education. Okay ra kung kaya nimo ang bayad, good for you. Pero ayaw i-compare imong situation sa uban. If wala tay makita nga klaro nga improvement, then it’s also fair for students to ask, “asa padulong ang ilang gipangbayad?” We all deserve to know and be treated fairly. ACT is our school, and we all deserve better.

#AsianistasFreedomWall33 Hi asianistas . Gusto lang nako i-share nga while others can afford the high tuition, naa pud baya’y uban nga naglisod. Dili unta nato i-compare atong situations.Yes, some students are lucky enough nga supported sa parents or stable ilang income but let’s not forget nga naa pud uban nga self-supporting, naay ginikanan nga minimum wage ra, or naa pa’y other family responsibilities.Dili sayon, especially karon nga taas kaayo ang tuition and daghan pa jud miscellaneous fees nga murag unnecessary.This post is not to rant, but to remind everyone to be kind and understanding. We don’t all walk the same path. Instead of judging, let’s support each other. Kung naa mo’y tips, student assistance programs, or scholarships nga ma-recommend, comment mo diri kay makatabang ta sa uban. Padayon ta asianista. Lahi-lahi man ta’g starting point, pero parehas ra ta’g goal maka-graduate. 💙
