Pursuing an ABE degree is only for the unwavering and not for the timid and weak-spirited.
Pursuing ABE means waking up early to catch morning classes, braving unpredictable weather during fieldwork, and sometimes staying late to finish experiments, design projects, or research papers. It means facing long equations, sleepless nights of studying, and times when doubts creep in, keep on wondering if all the effort will be worth it.
But every challenge carries a purpose. The hardships are not roadblocks, but stepping stones shaping resilience, resourcefulness, and grit, all these qualities that every ABE student needs to become an engineer who solves real-world agricultural and environmental problems. Each struggle strengthens the passion to create sustainable solutions, uplift farmers’ lives, and build systems that support food security.
Despite the weight of academic demands, financial constraints, or personal struggles, pursuing an ABE degree becomes an act of commitment to oneself, to one’s family, and to the communities that will benefit from future innovations. Hardship does not break ABE students instead it shapes them into engineers who dare to dream of a better, greener, and more sustainable world.
May all the farmers' sons and daughters soon become farmers' engineers. Padayon! Hiraya manawari!
