#UTASNursingStudentsAgainstBullying2 I had a long placement where I was told I made a mistake, a mistake which was investigated and the placement was advised I was not at fault and was able to continue my placement and pass the unit. The girl that found out I made a mistake was a grad reference for me. She was more than happy to as besides that I had an amazing placement where all my acute skills were shown off. I later got a call that my reference complained to the graduate interviewers about me and therefore I did not get a graduate placement. She made my life feel like hell, she made what was supposed to be the placement in the area of my dream seem horrible, nurses EAT their young. Now im a nurse and will never do the same.

#UTASNursingStudentsAgainstBullying1 When I was on placement last year, the clinical facilitators made my time hell and I ended up dropping out of the placement because I couldn’t take it any more. They are employed to support you and guide your learning, but why does it seem like all they do is bully you, misuse their power and make you feel like you will never be good enough to be a nurse? There is currently a nursing shortage, and they wonder why. Nurses eat their young and UTAS are doing nothing but contribute to this toxic culture. Are there any other nursing students feeling this defeated? I hope I’m not alone.
