OPEN CALL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE COLLEGE OF NURSING STUDENT GOVERNMENT, FORMER STUDENT GOVERNMENT PRESIDENT, AND THE UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION OF LPU-CAVITE:
For the past two years, students have been demanding transparency regarding the funds collected in 2024. Until now, no complete financial report, audit, or verifiable receipts have been presented to clearly account for the ₱58,000.
During that same term, students were repeatedly made to contribute to nearly every CON-related event and activity, with collections overseen by the Student Government. These were not framed as optional donations, but as required payments tied to participation, attendance, or even quizzes—forming a consistent pattern throughout the term.
Throughout this period, concerns were already being raised, yet instead of clear explanations, students were met with vague responses and silence. Two years later, the promised financial and audit reports remain undisclosed, and the issue remains unresolved.
We are not raising this to damage reputations, but because this happened during that term—and students are still left with unanswered questions. If everything was properly handled, transparency should not be this difficult to provide.
As we are taught in nursing, if it is not documented, it did not happen. In this case, if no official receipts, records, or verifiable documentation can be presented, then there is no clear basis for how these funds were properly accounted for.
To the LPU-Cavite Administration and CSA, we call for immediate action and a thorough review of this matter.
To the College of Nursing and the Dean, CON has always upheld standards of discipline and excellence. That same standard must apply to accountability in handling student funds. This issue cannot be ignored or left unresolved.
At the core of this concern is simple: students should not be made to continuously shoulder collections outside the curriculum, especially without full transparency on how these funds were used. After years of waiting, what is needed now is clear action and resolution.
This is not just about the past—it is about ensuring this does not happen again.
